The legendary 1958 album “Legrand Jazz” is being reissued for Record Store Day 2026, accompanied by an exclusive art print of a session photograph of Miles Davis with John Coltrane. The sleeve includes a note by Michel Legrand about the recording sessions, which was not included on the original edition. Michel Legrand described the album as “his dream record.” Already a successful composer and arranger in 1958, he had convinced the best musicians of the time to record an album composed primarily of jazz standards.
