Fonseca, born to a Senegalese mother and Cape Verdean father, founded Les Anges Noirs in Brussels. He earned the title "the King of Afro-Cuban rhythm" with successful hits in the 1960s. However, his sudden disappearance in the late 60s and uncertain fate, including rumors of his death in 1970, remain shrouded in mystery.
